About Us

Cope Land is a genre-bending band from Montreal, creating music that is exciting, original and varied. Led by guitarist Ben Copland Gilbert, this bilingual group fuses alternative and progressive rock with rap, jazz and metal, sounding powerful and virtuosic both in performance and on recordings. Available in several ensembles, combining a variable brass section with an ensemble of vocals, guitar, synthesizer, bass and drums, Cope Land always captivates with its driving rhythms, intensity and nuances. Formerly known as Crossroad Copeland, they enjoyed many successes, most notably a main stage performance at the International Montreal Jazz Festival. The band released their second album, “Expire”, on February 14, 2025. This album, more so rock music than ever before, is sung and rapped half in English, half in French. Many exciting things on the horizon, including playing in support of Maruja and Dweezil Zappa in the coming months.
